Reproducibility

Uniform Heating

In single-mode format, the heating performance for the reaction vial is easily predicted because its position relative to the microwave power output is systematically chosen.

The heating performance of multiple vials, when working in multimode format, is no less predictable. There is nothing random about the microwave field density in the MultiSYNTH chamber. On the contrary, the MultiSYNTH is designed to produce a uniform field density throughout its cavity. Therefore, all vials in a given processing run are subjected to identical heating conditions.

[agitation] Reaction Mixing

In single-mode format, a unique agitation feature ensures that the reaction mixture remains homogeneous in terms of heating and chemistry. In multimode format, the MultiSYNTH labstation oscillates/rotates each vial to achieve a similar mixing effect.

Pulsed/Unpulsed Power Delivery

The user of the MultiSYNTH can select either continuous or pulsed delivery of microwave power, as desired.

Fast Heating/Cooling Advanced Software Control

Milestone's user-friendly EasyControl software is the most powerful operating system in the field of microwave chemistry. Simply define a temperature-vs.-time heating profile, and the system will dynamically adjust the microwave power during the run to follow that profile with precision (± 1°C).

The same heating program can be used regardless of the number of reactors in the run; the labstation will make the necessary adjustments automatically.

Temperature & Pressure Control

The MultiSYNTH uses dual infrared temperature sensors and direct temperature control by a fiber-optic probe in a reference vial. Individual profiles are tracked for each vial. Temperature control is accurate and precise, ensuring reaction homogeneity.

Milestone's reaction vessels incorporate a spring-type valve for safe pressure release at preset values in case of overpressurization.
