The DMA-80 is operated via an industrial grade control terminal featuring a full-color VGA (640x480), 6.5” touch screen display. The terminal features 1 USB port (printer), 2 PS2 ports (optional mouse and keyboard), and 3 RS 232 ports (for external devices). The DMA-80 package can also be configured with a PC* taking the place of the touch screen controller.

The terminal runs Milestone’s unique EasyCONTROL software, providing simple and intuitive, but extremely flexible and powerful control over the analytical process.

Although the DMA-80 can analyze different sample matrices using the same method, EasyCONTROL allows the operator to create and save methods for different sample matrices. Since different methods can be used within the same run, any combination of sample matrices can be analyzed together, greatly increasing productivity. Additionally, virtually every sample parameter, including furnace temperatures, method profiles, absorbance signals, results, and calibrations are saved. They can be viewed, integrated to LIMS or easily transferred using a USB memory stick.

Although the DMA-80 exhibits extremely low memory effects, EasyCONTROL software includes a unique feature that allows the operator to pre-set an acceptable instrument blank level. If, following the analysis of a very high sample, the pre-set blank level is exceeded, EasyCONTROL will automatically run blank cycles until the pre-set blank level is achieved. This key feature prevents incorrectly high results being reported and is particularly important for the unattended analysis of unknown samples. To further insure data quality, EasyCONTROL allows the operator to designate certain samples as reference, or QC samples. Once a sample is designated as a reference, a known concentration value is entered. If the analysis of that sample yields a concentration outside the acceptable range specified by the operator, EasyCONTROL can be pre-set to either continue, stop, or pause the analysis of the remaining samples.
 

EasyCONTROL’s Consumables Tracker feature further simplifies maintenance on the DMA-80 by automatically prompting the analyst when a change of consumables is required.
