The UltraCLAVE is operated via Milestone’s 1640 controller - a dedicated PC with a 15” color touch screen display, keyboard, and mouse. Powerful yet intuitive EasyCONTROL software can be operated via the touch screen or the mouse and keyboard. The controller has an onboard hard disk, a USB port, PC card reader, and 3 serial ports.

EasyCONTROL software provides simple and intuitive, but extremely flexible and powerful control over the digestion process. Simply recall a stored program or create a new one. Press ‘Start’, and the system automatically follows the drawn temperature profile, utilizing a sophisticated PID (proportional-integral-derivative) controller.  Automatic real-time monitoring and feedback-based control of multiple parameters offers unsurpassed process control.

EasyCONTROL has full audit trail capability plus multi-level user access security: each operator has their personal PC FLASH card which is required to access the software. The 1640 terminal with EasyCONTROL software fulfils the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11. EasyCONTROL can generate sample run reports, combining the microwave program with sample weights and reagent volumes. Sample weight can be imported automatically by connecting a balance to the terminal via a serial port.
