Milestone’s unique TEMP-SURE system is used with both direct temperature control in a reference vessel and the contactless IR temperature control used for all vessels.

TEMP-SURE plots the temperature in each vessel in the EasyCONTROL software – in real time. This allows the analyst to confirm that each sample reached the target temperature and was held there for the time required by the digestion method. This is of particular importance when following US EPA methods: for example EPA 3052, used for the digestion of environmental samples, specifies that a temperature of 180° C +/- 5° C must be held for 10 minutes. Other systems display only the max. temperature each vessel reached – not the time the max. temperature was held for.
