Microwave Digestion
Milestone produces the widest range of microwave digestion products to meet the needs of pharmaceutical labs. For labs with lower sample workloads, choose conventional closed vessel digestion with the ETHOS EZ. For high throughput labs, especially those handling multiple sample types, Milestone’s exclusive Single Reaction Chamber (SRC) systems, the UltraCLAVE and exciting new UltraWAVE, deliver the highest productivity and labor savings of any microwave digestion systems on the market. Draft USP Methods 232, 233, and 2232 all allow only microwave digestion sample prep.
Microwave Extraction
Milestone’s ETHOS EX closed vessel microwave extraction system is transforming sample prep workflow in organic contract and pharmaceutical manufacturing labs by replacing traditional soxhlet extraction and sonication, performing extractions in a fraction of the time and with better recoveries. Final product formulations are a critical point in the development of drug products. The Ethos EX system extracts immediate release (IR) and controlled release (CR); API and complex API formulations with more control and reproducibility. Multiple vessel extractions and large vessel content uniformity make this technology a preferred choice. The ETHOS EX also generates less solvent waste and provides a safer working environment for the sample prep and research chemist.
Microwave Ashing
Milestone has a suite of microwave ashing systems to fit any laboratory need. Milestone’s PYRO SA Microwave Sulfated Ashing System features the VAC-1000 Acid Scrubber, which safely and efficiently neutralizes sulfuric acid fumes generated during the process. Operator involvement in the charring step is completely eliminated which automates the ashing process and substantially increases operator safety. The PYRO-SA is the safest, fastest, and most efficient way to do sulfated ashing.
Direct Mercury Analysis
Pending updates of the USP Methods have necessitated many pharmaceutical laboratories to review their mercury determination techniques. Traditional mercury analysis techniques like CVAA or fluorescence require costly and time-consuming sample preparation. Mercury analysis on ICP-MS is problematic due to memory effects and limited sensitivity. Milestone’s DMA-80 Direct Mercury Analyzer can measure both liquid and solid samples with no sample preparation in approximately 5 minutes.
Clean Chemistry
With the high price of high purity acids, our SubPUR and DuoPUR acid purification products are a great way to reduce costs by purifying low cost reagent grade acids on demand. Producing high purity acid at reagent grade costs will allow you to use high purity acid for even ICP-OES analyses – lowering reporting limits, and improving analytical data quality. Our TraceCLEAN improves productivity and data quality through automated cleaning of microwave digestion and extraction vessels, and sample introduction components from FAAS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and other instruments.
