Technical Details
The Ethos is not a kitchen-type or a commercially modified kitchen microwave unit. The Ethos is a rugged, heavy duty professional system specifically designed for the harsh environment of the modern laboratory.
Chassis
The chassis of the Ethos oven is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, instead of molded plastic as found on many other units in the market. The large
interior cavity and the inside of the door are plasma coated with 5 layers of PTFE applied at 350 °C to protect the interior of the unit from aggressive
acids (such as HNO3, H2SO4, HCl, H3PO4, HF, etc.).
Even Heat Distribution
The microwaves are first fed into a premixing chamber. From here, a rotating diffuser evenly distributes the microwaves in the cavity. This unique design and the advanced microprocessor control ensure optimal microwave distribution in the cavity, thus preventing the localized "hot spots" that can occur in single-magnetron systems with insufficient wave mixing.
Microwave Power
The "heart" of the Ethos platform is the innovative and patented microwave "feed/distribution" system to the working cavity. The Ethos system can be outfitted with two 800W industrial magnetrons, each with its own high voltage power supply, to ensure a powerful 1600W of microwave installed power.
