Technical Details
The ASM-400 Magnetic Stirring Module can be built in to the bottom of the microwave cavity. The stirring module is a complete stirring system, like the ones used in conventional stirplates, not just a series of fixed magnets. The independently rotated magnet produces consistent stirring of solutions in all vessels, independent of their position within the cavity. Stir bars are available in PTFE, Weflon, glass, and quartz.
Stirring in a microwave unit ensures:
- Faster reactions via increased surface area contact between sample/solvent
- Accelerated extraction of even difficult samples
- No charring of samples at the bottom of the container
- More homogeneous temperature distribution
