Milestone's Ethos EX extraction labstation is a high-performance microwave-accelerated system with some of the most advanced process control and safety features currently available. The Ethos system was created to give analysts an extraction platform just as technologically advanced as GC, GC-MS, HPLC, and other analytical techniques.
Unique to the Ethos labstation is a microwave mode stirrer to guarantee a completely homogeneous field within the microwave cavity, ensuring even heating of all samples. Continuous stirring of solvent/sample and immiscible phases eliminates sample clumping and achieves uniform temperature inside vessels for the best extraction efficiency and analyte recoveries.
Unlike other accelerated solvent techniques, the Ethos does not require tubing, HPLC pumps, or rotary valves that can clog and back up under pressure. Using our wide variety of accessories, a single Ethos system can be used for sample sizes ranging from 1 to 100 grams. And unlike techniques that extract only one sample at a time, the Ethos processes multiple samples simultaneously.
