No Hot or Cold Spots
The Ethos is a "multi-mode" microwave, which means that standing wave patterns are not allowed to form in the chamber. A unique design consisting of a "pre-mixing chamber" and rotating mode stirrer creates a homogeneous microwave field, with no hot or cold spots that can cause sample burning or incomplete digestions.
High-Quality Digestion Vessels
Milestone uses TFM vessel liners and covers in all digestion rotors. This is an established technology with the best mechanical and thermal stability in the industry. Resists contamination, melting, and deformation.
Superior Pressure Venting
Patented "spring" technology for pressure relief vents-and-reseals, allowing you to complete digestion even after venting. There is no loss of volatile elements, which means no need to shut down the unit and prepare a new batch of samples. No single-use consumables result in a lower long-term operating cost. This is the safest pressure relief mechanism available, and allows you to reach the highest pressures of any vessel technology on the market.
Faster Cooling
Water-cooled rotor design allows for a much shorter cooling period after digestion, resulting in greater throughput capabilities (water cooling: 10 minutes / air cooling: 20–30 minutes).
"Quick Disconnect" Temperature Monitoring System
Temperature probe is housed in a sturdy thermowell to prevent attack from acids; quick disconnect feature allows for immediate removal of rotor from oven for faster turnaround of next sample batch.
QP Reaction Sensor
Individually senses diffusion or leakage of acid vapors and modulates the power accordingly; plays the role of a pressure cap for every vessel.
