Innovative rotor allows complete digestions of traditionally difficult samples |
Milestone is proud to offer the first high-temperature rotor designed to withstand the most extreme of working conditions.
The main limiting factor in microwave digestion applications has always been the reaction vessel technology. Historically, certain difficult sample types (such as ceramics, refractory metals, metal oxides, carbides, and geologicals) could not be digested, because the existing technology could not withstand the necessary high temperatures for extended periods.
Milestone's Nova-10 rotor opens the door to previously unavailable applications in the microwave. It combines a breakthrough twin shielding technology (ceramic and high-performance polymer shields) with an architecture optimized for free air flow and efficient cooling. This design, in conjunction with Milestone's EasyControl software, provides reliable performance at sustained high temperatures of 280°C for up to 2 hours.

Twin Shielding Technology
The Nova vessels feature two layers of shielding (one ceramic, the other a high-performance polymer compound) and an architecture
optimized for free air flow. This design provides efficient, optimized cooling
during the microwave process, and is a key to the rotor's unequalled performance.
This technology enables the chemist to digest previously impossible samples. For example, wet digestion of refractory and geochemical samples usually carried out only by alkaline fusion, is now possible in the microwave.
